GARRY PETTY LEVEL 2 COACH

Garry has had a long career in boxing beginning when he was 8 years old and joined Hull Fish trades ABC. Here Garry trained under the guidance of Ken McKenzie and Billy Hall.
Garry won several regional titles including Yorkshire, North East and Northern Counties at schoolboy, junior, and senior level. Garry then went on to reach the N.A.B.C national finals in 1975. In 1976 Garry reached the quarter finals of the Junior ABA and the quarter finals of the English ABA, where he lost on points to England number 1 Tommy Heffron.
In his amateur boxing career Garry has represented Humberside, Yorkshire and North Eastern Counties teams. He has also been called up for the Young England Squad with his highest senior amateur ranking being 10th in the country.
Garry turned professional aged 21 and went on to have 28 pro bouts, winning 10 drawing 2 and loosing 16, many due to cuts which ultimately ended his professional career.
Garry Joined Hull Saints in 2008 believing it was time to give something back to the world of boxing that
had given so much to him during his career. He is a fantastic coach and a great asset to our club.
